Trucks entering Italy at Brenner will be screened

Trucks entering Italy via Brenner will be checked by a so-called "electronic eye", a kind of monitoring, similar to how luggage is checked at airports, said the Italian A22 motorway manager (Autostrada del Brennero SpA). Trucks that may have a problem are routed to a special control centre where the truck will undergo a deep (profound) inspection. This centre is equipped with the latest specialized equipment allowing for examinations of (among others), emissions and brake performance. The new tools also help detect overcrowded and overtaken vehicles. Construction of the HVG control centre will begin in spring 2020.
